“IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS" POSTER

a NEW poster to empower Townsville families
...to save money and support Townsville being a clean & green community

The North Queensland Conservation Council (www.nqcc.org.au) has recently created a poster called “It’s the Little Things”. This was undertaken with the assistance of ecoSAVVY and the support of a grant from the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM).

The poster aims to inform and educate residents of Townsville about how to live with a reduced carbon footprint. The keys areas addressed are electricity use and tips for living lighter on the planet with a focus on food and generally reducing consumption and waste, staying cool during summer and electricity use in the home.

With a view to ensuring that the information is relevant to all households in our community, the poster ONLY suggests eco-tips that have NO upfront implementation costs AND which will reduce the costs of living for Townsville residents.

So whether the motivation is to save money or adopt more environmentally friendly practices, we believe the “It’s the Little Things” poster is a very practical resource for all Townsville families.

A 5000 print run of the poster is being distributed throughout the Townsville region. By February 2011, copies will have been provided to all primary and secondary school teachers as well as to financial counsellors, community service providers, PCYCs, community centres and community information dissemination points eg libraries. So if you'd like a copy please head out to pick one up.

For further info on the poster, please contact the North Queensland Conservation Council (www.nqcc.org.au) on mobile 0459 090 028 or email president@nqcc.org.au
